What would have happened to Britain's teaming population had industrial growth not rescued it from a malthusian poverty trap? It is difficult to see how a check on an even more catastrophic scale in the Irish famine of 1845 to 47 could have been avoided. As far as I'm concerned that settles the issue, there is no argument over the Industrial Revolution anymore if that's correct. This is what you're talking about is salvation of the lives of millions upon millions of the British working class through the new productivity that the industrialization brought about. And the people who are the end of the foolish, the deeply foolish people who were the enemies of industrialization were people who didn't know it
