The Twelve Who Betrayed Jesus
In chapter 14, so getting close to the end, Judas is scary. Who was one of the twelve? This author keeps driving home the fact that he wasone of the twelve who betrayed. He went off just right after dinner, went to the chief priests to get some money to betray Jesus. Then in verse 50, the ultimate is they all scatter. They all take off exactly like Jesus said. You're useless. You're all going to desert me. Now this is really quite an amazing story, right? I would argue from a very profoundly Pauline perspective, it's all about Jesus' saving work.
