The Fed's Quarterly Pace Is Going to Carry on for a While
The outcome of the June meeting was surprisingly hawkish. The median and mode for 2023 shifted up 50 basis points to 5 and 5-8s. Powell seemed to imply that a quarterly pace was the new baseline. We'll also be watching closely for any discussion of longer-run neutral rates.
