The Tombstone Epoteth

Epoteth is a shadowy United States agency supposedly dedicated to rooting out troublemakers who might plunge the nation into another Civil War. Miners by the thousands now chop away at canyon walls, digging tunnels and hanging from perilous scaffolding to get exposed veins of gold, silver and grass rock. You have the Great Plains, the heart of the West as it's known, devastated during the New Civil War. And then there are still some conflicts going on with the Sioux and... Makes sense.
