The Beatitudes: How Christ Cares About the Heart
Christ gives us both the sure path and the ultimate goal in eight sentences found in Matthew's gospel verses three through 12. The Beatitudes first correspond to the human heart's deepest longing, that is for us to be happy. Second, they fulfill the promises of Abraham and his people, thus concluding the Old Testament. Third, they show us the way of the Lord Jesus from the inside out because that's the priorities of Christ.
