The Importance of Formality and Ritual in a Society
The only way in which we can actually progress is by standing up to it in an uncivil way. We need ritual and formality for two reasons: It's focusing and it's fortifying. I start every day with a tea in bed, brought by my husband - i have to make him do this. And i think we just all have them, and we'd fall apart without them.
