The Avoidant Personality and the Fear of Criticism

The essential feature of the avoidant personality is this pervasive pattern of social inhibition and adequacy, hypersensitivity. The individual avoids activities that involve a significant interpersonal contact because of the fears of criticism, disapproval or rejection are so high. They usually avoid making they making new friends, unless they are certain they'll be light and accept without criticism.
