The Jeweller's Apartment in Paris

Alexandre and his men carefully plotted every detail of the heyst they mapped out a floor plan of the jeweler's apartment. Alexandre decided that they would rent the empty unit above the jeweller's apartment. They'd get in by carving a hole in the floor board but there was one big problem, the noise there would be sawing and falling debris. How could they carve a hole big enough for a man to fit through without drawing attention?
