Jeremy Boney: A Press Photographer's Perspective on the Abervan Disaster

Jeremy Boney's father covered the Abervan disaster in 1966 when a landslide of coal waste crashed into a small Welsh mining village. His grandfather had been a coal miner and it was something that I think he felt very deeply. Mother Jennifer was a press photographer which must have been quite an unusual job for a woman back then. Jeremy chose Elgar's second symphony because it does remind him of his father. He also asked for the second movement to be played at his funeral.
