How to Make Upgrades a Non-Problem
Microsoft has a long history in supporting software. So announcing LTS is not really something new for them, I guess. The right way to do this is to have people focus on making upgrades and non-events. If an API goes from alpha to beta or from beta to GA, you should be able to catch that and update your deployments.
