The Troubled History of Dance of the Vampires
The musical received acclaim and even awards when it played in Vienna and Stuttgart. The trouble came when Dance of the Vampires was brought to Broadway. Jim Steinman himself would wind up disavowing the Broadway show, which remains Steinman's only fully produced Broadway musical. It played just 61 previews and 56 performances in 2002 and 2003.
