In your book, you talk about our arrogance about medicine for germ theory and antibiotic. One of the things you hope to counter in your book is that we're not as smart as we think we are. You say there's a widespread assumption that medicine before bacteriology and antibiotics was nothing but superstitious nonsense at best. And actual butchery at worst.
