Insoluble Anesthetics Induce Faster Than Isoflurane
The F-A to F-I ratio is the fraction of alveolar concentration over the fraction of inhaled concentration. With a very insoluble anesthetic, not much will leave the alveolus. So when you dial 6% desflurane up at altitude, you will get 6% but it will be 6% of 380 and therefore only 3% of 760. If you had to make this thing, you'd rather make it to give an under dose than an overdose so think that they made it in a safe way.
