The Importance of Engaging With Art

I think there's an argument that even to choose not to engage is still a political choice in a way, you know. I was making records and on the road, all the time, like 250 shows a year for six years or whatever they were called. A lot of the engagement that I was doing was absolutely inspired by the engagement that got me engaged during the Reagan years. When art can help you through that, you know, art can give you just a minute of relief. And again, I realized that this is corny but like, you know,. You know, when you're in a room with other people feeling the same thing.
