Don't Just Do the Assignments
Treat art school as if you are an art school, and that each lesson is a lecture by an instructor that gives you home work. And then ideally, if i was going to art school, i wouldn't just do the assignment. I would figure out a way how to make this lesson fun for me. How do i want to apply this information? Is there something i'm excited to draw or paint at the moment, and i could take that knowledge and just apply it to that and practise it with the project i want to do? Yes. Yet that's the best kind of student, too, the kind who embraces the assignments. To say, look, these are dream assignments.
