NASW responded to a critical article in the Washington Post about how social workers are basically just as racist as police officers. Two days later, Trump signed an executive order on policing that was sorely insufficient and highly criticized by Black Lives Matter and grassroots organizations. That evening, NASW put out a tweet showcasing a photo of Trump that appeared to support the executive order. And it hit me kind of hard. I've been listening to the voices of our students that are calling for more progressive and grassroots responses.
