The Importance of Application Rationalization for CISOs
The world of OT cyber insurance is changing fairly dramatically ever since the not-peche incident in 2017. Merck pharmaceutical had to shut down four plants, they lost $1.4 billion mostly in product. The Lloyd's syndicate has said, the risk is too great, especially on the OT side. They are reducing what they're willing to pay out. And so, I think a couple of bottom lines that need to be made clear: If a company gets hacked and all the lights go out, it doesn't matter if you've got security or not. Insurance is a tool for certain kinds of risks which society cannot use over time.
