The Evolution of Reason

Edwards' view of the progress and coherence of biblical revelation clearly penetrates every aspect of his preaching. The use of reason was not seen as antithetical to biblical exegesis, but as demanded by it and harmonious with it. Seemingly harmless texts are given an ineffable awesomeness.
