I Love the Idea of Dignity in Kant's View

Dignity seems to be both part of our inherent being in Kant's view, but also something that exists because of our rational capacity. Our dignity emerges precisely from the fact that we can recognize this tragedy as a tragedy. In my view, that's the sort of end point of a natural development in human beings. The story doesn't begin there, but it begins with a kind of anthropological development to that point.
