The Role of Russia in Southeast Asia

Russia is a really interesting part of the puzzle and you're right that Russia, particularly in defense cooperation and arms procurement, still plays a pretty significant role in the region. But I think we're likely to see Vietnam and Indonesia gradually diversify away from Russian procurement. They'll do it quietly; they'll do it over time. The war in Ukraine and also growing complications with these partnerships from sanctions on Russia, I think, have made countries in the region realize that it's probably in their interest to diversified away from any reliance they have on Russian arms right now.
