N2O Emissions in Tropical Forests

The N2O is produced by bacteria that live in the soil. And there are two different groups called nitrifying bacteria and denitrifying bacteria. They do so well in tropical soils because it's warm and moist, which makes good conditions for these processes of nitrification and denitrification. The other thing that's kind of unique about most low land tropical forests is that nitrogen is an element that's relatively abundant compared to other limiting factors like phosphorus.
