Lindy's Killing of a Baby Dingo

Lindy Chamberlain was found guilty of murdering her two month old daughter Azaria in 1982. The prosecution claimed that she had cut the baby's throat and waited for it to bleed to death before disposing of its body. Her defense argued that there was no evidence of arterial bleeding from the jumpsuit blood stains, and would take up to 20 minutes for Azaria to die if her mother had cut her jugular vein and not her aorta. On October 29th of 1982, a jury of her peers found Lindy Chamberlain guilty of the murder of her own baby girl with a judge then handing down a sentence of life imprisonment.
