Is There a Future for NPM?
Every NPM project ends up with hundreds of megabytes of dependencies. Apple did all of this work a few years ago to make ABI stability in Swift so that they could include all of this stuff in the operating system. And if they're now going to put everything in packages, it sort of feels like we're moving back to now having to ship hundreds of megabyte of libraries with every app. I would also love to see them like like you said, keep them open source but integrate them into the operating systems as a default.
