The Managum Tree

The name Managum comes from a eucalyptus that's very common in South Eastern Australia. The leaves of the Managum tree were used for welcome for country ceremonies. When Europeans came to the area, they named this particular Gum tree a Managum because it produces a sweet white gum. It reminded them of the stories of the manna in the wilderness from the Bible. So that's where Menagam gets its name from.
