Putin's Speech on Arms Control
The Trump administration in 2019 pulled out of the 1987 Intermediate Range Nuclear Forces Treaty. It banned ground launched missiles with a range of 500 to 5,500 kilometers. Putin mentioned the INF withdrawal in his speech on Tuesday. He blamed the US and its allies for provoking the war by expanding NATO.
