Andrew: I feel like it has a complicated position on on this because he simultaneously is kind of getting what he needs out of this relationship but also the book does a teeny teeny tiny little bit of oh we're all just self-medicating and trying to ignore everything. The one time it does mention him being on medication it does feel just like gently derogatory about her at least he feels maybe it's hard to distinguish the intent from the way that it that it reads.
