Litvinenko's Death Was a State-Sponsored Murder
After Litvinenko's hospitalization British law enforcement and intelligence agencies swung into action. They were alarmed by the sensational but apparently plausible claims that he made from his hospital bed. Investigators determined that Corftun and Lugovoy had probably tried to poison Litvinenko at an earlier lunch meeting a few weeks before on October 16 in London. But for some reason, they continued to carry the Polonium around the city for the next two weeks until the next opportunity presented itself.
