How Can Feedback Not Be Personal?
The problem with direct feedback isn't that it's be polite. It's that most places don't take care to put their employees in the emotional place to be able to hear it. If you feel safe, valued, empowered and fulfilled, it is a lot easier to hear that someone doesn't like one of your many ideas. On the other hand, if you're living in fear of being fired from your soul sucking job because you feel like mis your work and you'r to do anything about it, then back is hard to hear. But given the right emotional environ, we can get far richer feedback about our impact.
