The Diversity of San Francisco in the 70s
Roberto: I was born in 71 and grew up in Borough Heights and the Mission District. And there was always a presence of black families and black community. When I look back at pictures of my childhood, like classroom parties, for example, it was there were there were as many black children as there were Latino children,. Filipino children, Chinese very diverse. That for me, at least, is the San Francisco I grew up with and remember. It's a San Francisco I miss.
