The Ending of a Loved One's Life
In order to feel a sadness when a loved one dies you have to have loved that person fully and completely to whatever extent you could. I wouldn't say that my understanding of philosophy or ethics at least changed at all with the writing of that scene or really the whole finale because we were sort of done with that. It has nothing to do with morality it's really about love and attention and caring. The wave was just a different way for the water to be for a little while.
