The Languages

In 1675 Henry Oldenburg compiled, collated and extracted papers for the Royal Society. The languages is very charming - they refer to Cassini as 'the excellent Cassini', which makes him sound a little bit like a magician. In terms of the sort of stuff that's in there, we're seeing living hooks work with the microscope. There's some discussions of Isaac Newton's work on optics first published three years earlier. But there's also a great title, I think, you know, The languages isvery charming.
