Hampton Court - The Jewel in Their Crown
I like to think about what architecture can tell us about people. Hampton court, for example, feels absolutely designed to convey the magnificence of henry the eighth. I like to think of heve as the place that the belins didn't need to occupy. At the height of their power, they chose to live here. It's essentially three family rooms upstairs and some public rooms downstairs. And rather than keeping an invading army out, she can keep her secrets inside. So i think it really comes into its own during that wonderful period.
