How to Get Connection When You're Depressed

The polyvagal theory is that when we have true connection with people who understand us and know us on a deeper level, this isn't just like surface conversations. And you said you want connection but you don't feel comfortable calling it a need. I would encourage you to mention this in therapy and dig into where that is coming from. We can argue back against that using some bridge statements.
