The Challenge to Realism in Ethical Science
It was thought around the middle of the 20th century that for example, all kinds of other radical conclusions might be forced on you. Perhaps you could come up with a realist understanding of quantum mechanics, but the price you were going to have to pay was going to be in terms of modifications to classical logic. In my view, and I think in the view of most of the people who study foundations of quantum mechanics nowadays, all of this was mistaken or misguided. We now do have old-fashioned flat-footed realistic accounts of what's going on inside atoms.
