Children's literature is very dark. A usually involves the death of parents. Why do you think that is? We've become very protective of our children in modern times, ut we don't want to expose them to dramatic things. Children are dark creatures, and they, like the rest of us, are fascinated by by terrible things. They're fascinated by cruelty. So how can i have a story were indulging that fantasy? Well, good bye mum, good bye dad. That's really real sad news. But now now i got to have my fantasy.
