Aristotle's Definition of Change

Aristotle's classic definition of change is this, changes the actualization of what is in potential. For Aristotle, locomotion is a specific and irreducible. It's a species of change all of its own. He doesn't try to use locomotion or things in locomotion to explain other kinds of changes. That's what sets up for a big part of the conflict, or apparent conflict, we must say, between the perennial philosophy of nature and contemporary science.
