When I was growing up, i wanted to be the straight ally who has lesbie and parents who could then turn round and say, see, you are wrong. There was a kind of stigma around it in the gay communit. And so to be disabled and gay and walk into a queer space and feel like your different body is acceptable is really, really tricky. A lot of people didn't want to be connected with disability. So there was that kind of stigma atache to it, because it wasn't sexy, it wasn't hot,. It wasn't all f those things. Ib, the fact that you notice just how far its changing tells you there is to go on this journey
