What Are the Trade-Offs?
Copper could double or maybe triple the world's productive capacity. Other things like lithium, 18 to 20 times increase. Nickel, like 11 times increase. And so you look at that, and so on one hand, if you look at any extractive industry in the world, and clearly all those metals and minerals are one, but oil is one, gases is one, coal is one. No extractive industry has ever been able to double, much less triple, quadruple, quintuple in a decade. That's how much solar's ramping up. We'll be lucky if we probably get six to seven gigawatts installed.
