The Music of Nebuchadnezzar
In verses three to seven, we see some of the most extensive use of comedic repetition. Phrases like the image that nebuchadnezzar has set up are repeated many times. In terms of the background of babel, the musical instruments seem to be servin as a language intended to unite all peoples, nations and languages. Such common worship of the great image is an attempt to provide a solvent for all these different nations that have been brought together in this great composit of peoples. Any who refuse to participate in the worship of the mage are threatened with the burning fiery furnace.
