i'm currently the executive director of the open philanthropy project. i am co founder, though i no longer work at givwell and their very related organization. In some ways, the two organizations have opposite philosophies. An givewell tends to look for things that are really bold, or the whole case can be spelled out on line. Open philanthropy tends to looking for something that is often risky but has a proven track record.
