The Lord's Firstborn Son
Israel was in constant danger of presumption. They prided themselves in their privileged covenant status and did not sufficiently consider the consequences of their unfaithfulness. The lord would shake them among all the nations, another judgment that the earthquake would literally anticipate. But there would be mercy in the jud ment. There is hope of restoration and new life.
