The Problem of Pluralism Is the Problem of Moral Disagreement

Under standard constitutional or liberal democratic institutions, one of the upshots of that treatment as a political equal is that we get to make up our own minds. And so moral and political disagreement seems to be the upshot of liberal democratic institutions. The Rawlsian insight is that the scope of that disagreement, although it's very, very broad, they're going to be very severe disagreements even among people who all are committed to liberal democracy.
