A few hundred black people travelled to the oregon territory in te 18 forties and fifties and sixties, despite white settlers not welcoming them with open arms. Some of the original pioneers were black. One notable black immigrant was george bush. The free son of a black father and an irish mother, he travelled to oREGON in 18 forty four with his e and five children. Joined up with a wagon party of four white families. These whites respected bush ecause they were neighbors in missouri. Bush gain subject to rasa laws. Mother fucker. Go be free somewhere else, you son of a bitch. We're crazy as species. Settlers later amended
