The Importance of Chess in a Marginalized Community

For me, the ability to absorb myself completely in chess was such a precious thing. Chess and music are both like a very fast entryway into this kind of like ready made for that experience. And I can't think of anything else except probably music that does it so quickly or has its arms open to everyone. It's really something that's easy not to notice if you're a person that has the privilege of not facing all of that stuff.
