What Are Targeted Longer Term Refinancing Operations (TLTROs)?
The ECB has been leaning towards what they call targeted longer term refinancing operations, otherwise known as TLTROs. It was a targeted long-term refinancing operation you need to make sure that some flow of credit was directed to the private sector even during the pandemic. The European Central Bank would inflation at 10.7% in Europe does not want banks to lend aggressively to theprivate sector and feed additional aggregate demand pick-up. So it wants European banks to pair back some of their lending activity.
