The Safety Concerns of the Titan Submersible
Oceangate's director of Marine Operations and Submersible Pilot, David Lockridge began to raise some safety concerns. He brought up that the 15-inch acrylic window on the sub was only rated for 1,300 meters. The issue was also the material itself as carbon fiber isn't built to withstand the compression forces at the deep depths of the ocean. 38 experts with the man underwater vehicles committee of the marine technology society said a letter to Stockton in March of 2018 they were concerned about the safety of the sub.
