The Effects of Exertion on the Body's Temperature
The body is not able to cool itself or because it can't sweat enough, this results in a heat illness. Heat related illness affects elderly individuals with underlying medical comorbidities that impact the body's thermo regulation and removal of from hot environment. Patients who are hypertensive or on specific drugs like beta blockers or diuretics are at high risk of getting heat related illness. Young children, extremes of age including young children and elderies also have an increased chance of developing heat-related illnesses.
