What Kind of Existential Crisis Do You See With Students That You Teach?
i no longer teach undergraduates, but i teach them through the recreation department. The existential crises that i see them face are really a about the fact that there is no job market or popagtes even coming out of stanford. There aren't all these professorships opening up for for the thousands of graduates to claim. And so people are thinking more creatively about what it means to have a phd and what you can do with that skill set and that experience. I also am always telling my students to listen to their direct experience,. enly, that theresthere's value in both a and hopefully we don't need to neglect one in favour of the other.
