Freud's Theory of Neurosis and Psychopathology
Freud's idea of neurosis and psychopathology was that content from within, from the id possesses and takes over your consciousness. Later neo-Freudians came up with what's known as humanist psychology in which no, it's the external world and its pressures that cause an ego to break. Young didn't quite abandon the idea, neither did Freud. And for him, the possession of these archetypes is huge in his therapy. Far more than it became, you see, with the Freudian school.
