The Importance of Hormones in Menopause
When you don't have enough estradiol, your body becomes more inflamed. Inflammation upregulates an enzyme called aromatase, which is present in fat tissue. As we get older and we're not healthy, we end up producing more visceral fat. Estradiol works only on one receptor for breast cancer: estrogen alpha receptors.
